Dr. Glenn P. Wood

Historian, Collector, and Author

Dr. Glenn P. Wood is an accomplished scholar, collector, and author with a lifelong passion for history, culture, and rare artifacts. Born and raised in post-war England, he witnessed firsthand how historical events shape everyday life, a lesson that has guided his personal and professional journey.

Educated at St. Andrews University, Dr. Wood studied science and philosophy, developing a deep understanding of the forces that drive human decisions. His curiosity and desire to experience the world beyond textbooks led him to South America, where he spent five years in Bolivia contributing to educational development while observing the impacts of political repression.

Upon returning to England, he earned a doctorate at Oxford University, an institution steeped in history much like the antiques and rare items he collects today. His research opened doors to global connections, bringing him into contact with leaders, scholars, and visionaries from China, India, Japan, and beyond.

Dr. Wood’s explorations have taken him to iconic historical sites including Machu Picchu and the pyramids of Egypt, immersing him in local cultures and experiences. Today, based in the United States, he continues to share his expertise through publications, bilingual books, and curated collections of antiques and rare items.

Through his work, Dr. Wood brings history to life, connecting people with the stories, artifacts, and cultures that define our world.

The Drive Behind My Work

To preserve and promote the cultural, historical, and artistic legacy of wood through curated books and antique collections, highlighting the environmental threats it faces from climate change and unsustainable land-use practices while advocating for responsible stewardship of this irreplaceable resource.

What I Hope to Achieve

A global community that values and protects wood as both a cultural artifact and a natural resource, where knowledge, preservation, and ethical practices ensure that wooden art, literature, and heritage endure for generations.
